Our company has focused on inexpensive plastic compared to metal and developed a "bone fixation pseudo plate" that appears on X-rays while keeping costs down. Normally, plastic does not appear on X-rays because it is X-ray transparent; however, we solved this issue by mixing in a contrast agent. Furthermore, by adjusting the thickness and the amount of contrast agent, it has become possible to make it appear semi-transparent on X-ray images.
